MANGUPURA - Widiatmika High School, Jimbaran, Badung, Bali is a place for outstanding students. Three student representatives are walking to the National Science Olympiad (OSN) in the Bali Province. They have the right to compete at the provincial level after successfully passing the preliminary round at the Badung Regency level.
The three outstanding students are Alvin Takuto Imai, who participated in the astronomy olympiad, Devita Elysadora, who competed in the geography olympiad, and Ni Made Vidya Chandraswari, who also competed in the field of geography.
The head of Widiatmika High School, I Made Suadnyana, said that this competition was held on May 24 and 25, 2022, where the implementation is scheduled according to the field of competition.
"The location of the competition is held in schools. Meanwhile, the supervisors use a cross-system from other schools following the decree from the Head of Education and Youth of Bali Province," said the Undiksha Mathematics Education alumnus on Saturday, June 18, 2022.
Suadnyana admitted that the training of their students had been carried out long before the competition. Each student engages in coaching at the school club. Coaching is still being carried out during online learning due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"When the government has relaxed face-to-face learning, we schedule more regular and limited training for academic clubs," he added.
One month before the competition, we intensify intensive preparation, which refers to the practice of the competition or the competition syllabus. Suadnyana also admitted that he was grateful that three of his students could qualify for the provincial level.
"Thank God, with the efforts and hard struggle of our students, when the announcement was made, three of our students passed to the next level," he said.
In facing the National OSN at the provincial level later, his party admitted that they would make more mature preparations.
"Generally, the preparation for these three people at school is the same as for the other participants. But the difference is in the material that is answered according to the program from the coach," he said.
He also hoped that the three representatives from Widiatmika High School would be able to present the best. Suadnyana also asked them to continue strengthening their preparations at home apart from attending training at school.
In addition, other students will continue to be given guidance to get the seeds of outstanding students who can make Widiatmika High School proud.
