JIMBARAN – Widiatmika Kindergarten, in collaboration with Faber-Castell, successfully held a collage competition on Monday, March 17, 2025. The event aimed to develop fine motor skills, foster creativity, and enhance children's ability to express themselves through art. As a form of visual art, collage serves as an effective method for honing these skills from an early age.
The competition, held in the Widiatmika Early Childhood Education (PAUD) Hall, was attended by all TK A and TK B students. Ni Ketut Tantri Wiadi, Vice Principal of Widiatmika PAUD, emphasized that this activity was not just a competition but also a platform to build confidence and nurture students’ creativity in the arts.
To enrich the learning experience, Widiatmika Kindergarten partnered with Faber-Castell, a leading stationery brand that shares the same vision of fostering children's creativity through art. In addition to providing high-quality products for the competition, the Faber-Castell team also conducted educational sessions on proper coloring and cutting techniques.
"Through this competition, children have the opportunity to express their imagination, improve hand-eye coordination, and develop confidence in their creative work. They also learn various artistic techniques, how to use tools and materials correctly, and the importance of maintaining cleanliness and neatness in their work," said Tantri.
The enthusiasm of the students was evident throughout the event. They eagerly worked with the provided materials, including glue, scissors, crayons, and activity sheets for cutting, pasting, and coloring. More than just a platform for showcasing creativity, the competition also taught valuable lessons about sportsmanship, learning from experience, and facing challenges with a positive attitude.
Tantri added that this activity aligns with the curriculum and teaching methods at Widiatmika Kindergarten. Besides being a fun learning experience, the competition also served as a refreshing break for students during the mid-semester period.
"This kind of activity will become a regular event at Widiatmika Kindergarten. We plan to continue organizing creative activities with guest teachers and industry partners, considering the significant benefits these activities bring to the children," she added.
Through this collaboration, the competition not only helped children enhance their artistic skills but also strengthened the bond between the school, parents, and the community in supporting holistic child development.
