Widiatmika Kindergarten's Commitment to Quality Education Through Best Practice Writing Workshop

BENOA – Widiatmika Kindergarten continues to demonstrate its commitment as a leading educational institution dedicated to fostering children’s potential from an early age. Beyond emphasizing a character-based curriculum, the school actively participates in professional development programs. One notable initiative is the Best Practice Writing Workshop for Cohorts 2 and 3 of the Sekolah Penggerak program, organized by the Bali Province Balai Guru Penggerak (BGP) at Plagoo Holiday Hotel from November 17–19, 2024.

During the workshop, participants gained in-depth insights into Best Practices from esteemed speakers such as Prof. I Wayan Widana and Ni Putu Sri Ratna Dewi. The materials focused on two key areas: writing ethics and the STAR format (Situation, Task, Action, and Result/Reflection) as a structured approach to documenting Best Practices.

Ni Made Budiadnyani, Principal of Widiatmika Kindergarten and a participant in the workshop, emphasized the importance of ethical writing in producing works that are honest, fair, accountable, and respectful of everyone’s contributions. She also highlighted the benefits of the STAR framework introduced during the workshop. According to her, this systematic approach effectively reflects the educational journey, from identifying challenges to recording positive impacts and changes.

"I learned how to create Best Practices using the STAR technique. It has helped me reflect on the challenges and successes in leading change while strengthening school management strategies," Budiadnyani said.

Following the workshop, Budiadnyani plans to share her Best Practice Story through the Ideas for Practice feature on the Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM). This initiative is expected to inspire other schools to adopt similar innovations.

Best Practice Stories serve as documentation of teachers', principals', or supervisors’ experiences in addressing professional challenges and reflecting on their successes. As part of Best Practices, these writings describe creative solutions to workplace issues, including strategies for achieving professional goals. Sharing these practices aims to inspire other educators by providing examples of innovation and reflection.

Widiatmika Kindergarten's participation in this workshop exemplifies its dedication to improving educational quality. Supported by professional educators and a nurturing learning environment, the school continues to prepare its students for future success while setting a benchmark as an outstanding Sekolah Penggerak in Bali.
