LUKLUK – Widiatmika Early Childhood Education (PAUD) participated in the Badung District Children's Art Performance held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Badung Regency Government Center (Puspem). A total of 20 students, consisting of 10 boys and 10 girls, took part in the event, captivating the audience with their performances of the traditional Janger and Kecak dances.
"Through this activity, we hope the children can explore their artistic potential, build self-confidence, and foster camaraderie with peers from various areas in Badung District. Additionally, we aim to instill a love and pride for local cultural heritage. We also hope this activity sharpens character values such as discipline, teamwork, responsibility, and patriotism," said the Principal of Widiatmika PAUD, Ni Made Budiadnyani.
According to Budiadnyani, the Children's Art Performance was organized by the Head of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) at the Badung Regency Department of Education, Youth, and Sports (Disdikpora). The event aimed to introduce and preserve the traditional Janger and Kecak dances for the younger generation. It also served as a moment of appreciation for retired PAUD teachers across Badung District, coinciding with the celebration of Mother's Day on December 22, 2024.
"Through this event, we hope the community recognizes the importance of introducing traditional arts to the younger generation from an early age. This way, our local arts and culture can remain preserved and evolve into a proud identity for the people of Bali amidst the progress of modern times," Budiadnyani added.
As one of the Holistic Integrative (HI) PAUDs in Badung District since 2023, Widiatmika PAUD has consistently supported early childhood development programs with a holistic and integrative approach. These programs aim to meet the essential needs of children simultaneously, systematically, and in an integrated manner through inter-institutional collaboration. The primary focus is to ensure the optimal growth and development of children through a unified approach.
The Children's Art Performance involved a total of 600 students from various HI PAUDs across Badung District. Participants were selected through a rigorous process and underwent intensive training for one month, with practice sessions lasting 30 to 60 minutes daily.
With Widiatmika PAUD's active participation in this event, it is hoped that the spirit of preserving traditional arts and culture will continue to thrive in the hearts of the younger generation. Their presence not only showcased their artistic skills but also proved that Bali's cultural heritage remains vibrant and relevant in modern times.
