UNGASAN – Widiatmika Kindergarten organized Sport Day with Parents on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Revayah Plaza, Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK). The event aimed to strengthen the emotional bonds between children and parents through various team-based competitions.
“Through activities involving both children and parents, emotional bonds can grow stronger. This benefits the children’s development, as they feel safe, comfortable, supported, acknowledged, and more confident,” said Ni Ketut Tantri Wiadi, Vice Principal of Widiatmika Kindergarten.
Tantri explained that the Sport Day with Parents was designed to foster collaboration among parents, students, and teachers. For kindergarten levels TK A and TK B, the competitions involved four teams consisting of parents and children. Meanwhile, activities for the Playgroup (KB) were carried out with a simpler format. Teachers ensured that every child had the opportunity to participate. At the end of each activity, children were encouraged to hug their parents, creating memorable moments for all involved.
The Sport Day with Parents began with group aerobics, followed by a yel-yel competition involving teachers, students, and parents. Next, there were ball-transfer and rubber band-transfer games.
“Afterwards, we enjoyed snacks together, announced the winners, took group photos, and concluded the event. Even though it rained during the activities, it didn’t dampen our excitement or enthusiasm. What matters most is that the children and parents had fun and that strong interaction and teamwork were built—not just the pursuit of victory,” Tantri concluded.
The Sport Day with Parents is part of The 3rd Jimbaran Education Festival (JEF) organized by Widiatmika Kindergarten. Other exciting activities included a healthy meal preparation contest with parents, educational exhibitions, bazaars, free trial classes, an internal coloring competition for Widiatmika Kindergarten, a storytelling with parents competition, and stage performances by Playgroup, TK A, and TK B students.
