JIMBARAN – Widiatmika Kindergarten took the opportunity of National Teacher’s Day 2024 to nurture character values in young learners from an early age. With the theme "Noble Teachers: Serving with Heart, Becoming True Role Models," the celebration aimed to provide meaningful, joyful, and inspiring learning experiences for students, teachers, and parents.
Ni Made Budiadnyani, the Principal of Widiatmika Kindergarten, highlighted the spirit of togetherness fostered during the celebration, making it a significant moment to strengthen the bonds between teachers, students, and parents.
"By combining meaningful and enjoyable learning, Widiatmika Kindergarten ensures that the instilled character values are effectively nurtured. This creates a harmonious educational environment where teachers lead with heart and serve as role models, supporting the holistic development of children," said Budiadnyani.
The celebration took place on Monday, November 25, 2024, on the school premises. According to Budiadnyani, the theme was chosen to reflect the essential role of teachers, not only as educators but also as figures who lead by example in their actions, behavior, and dedication. Teachers who serve with heart can foster warm connections with children, inspire them, and instill positive values in their daily lives.
"Teachers inspired to serve with heart will create a warm, creative, and enjoyable learning atmosphere for children. With this spirit of togetherness, Widiatmika Kindergarten is optimistic about continuing to be an inspiring learning space that nurtures the young generation with love," Budiadnyani added.
The theme also carried messages for students and parents. For students, the event emphasized the importance of respecting teachers as figures who educate and guide with love. Children were encouraged to understand that teachers are role models in both learning and behavior, helping them grow into respectful and grateful individuals.
For parents, the celebration underscored the vital collaboration between home and school in shaping children's character. Teachers and parents together form the foundational pillars supporting children’s holistic development.
The event was filled with joy, involving the entire school community. Activities included a flag-raising ceremony, singing, collaborative card-making, and a mini-theater featuring an educational film about the meaning of National Teacher’s Day.
Children also had the opportunity to express their appreciation to their teachers by singing "Guruku Tersayang" and creating greeting cards with their classmates. Additionally, they presented special gifts prepared at home with their parents, such as flower bouquets, chocolates, cakes, stationery, and more.
"Through activities that actively involve children, such as the flag-raising ceremony, singing, collaborative card-making, and watching a film about Teacher’s Day, children are encouraged to appreciate, thank, and show respect for their teachers. This aligns with Widiatmika Kindergarten’s vision of nurturing children who are not only academically bright but also strong in character, including respect, care, and cooperation," concluded Budiadnyani.
