Widiatmika Kindergarten Student Wins Medal at Bima Mega Fest 2025 Swimming Competition

JIMBARAN – Nadira Rahen Almahyra, a kindergarten B student from Widiatmika, displayed remarkable determination by securing third place in the 50-meter swimming competition with a kickboard at Bima Mega Fest 2025. The competition, organized by Bintang Mandiri School Jimbaran on Friday, January 31, 2025, proved that perseverance and courage can overcome any challenge.

Ni Ketut Tantri Wiadi, Vice Principal of Widiatmika Early Childhood Education, expressed her pride in Nadira’s achievement, especially considering that she was initially shy and lacked confidence. However, with support from both her school and family, she overcame these challenges and performed impressively in the competition.

"Nadira’s main motivation for joining this competition was to build her courage, boost her confidence, and develop a sense of competition and sportsmanship. Winning third place was a significant moment for her. It has helped her grow more confident, and she is extremely happy with her achievement," said Tantri.

Nadira’s success was also the result of a well-planned strategy and continuous support from the school. Aware of her shy nature, the school implemented a special approach to help her prepare mentally for the competition.

"Before the race, we encouraged her to give it a try without fear of losing. What matters most is the effort and determination she showed. We also provided emotional support, such as reassuring hugs, because for young children, simply having the courage to compete is already a great achievement. Additionally, we collaborated with her parents to continue strengthening her confidence at home," Tantri added.

The swimming competition was part of the kindergarten B category in Bima Mega Fest 2025, featuring young participants from various kindergartens across South Kuta. The event aimed to instill sportsmanship, foster a competitive spirit, and develop strong character from an early age.

A Natural Talent to Nurture

Interestingly, Nadira is not part of any swimming club, yet she managed to deliver an impressive performance in the pool. According to Tantri, Nadira’s natural advantage lies in her speed in the water, which allowed her to compete strongly against other participants. Her achievement indicates great potential in swimming, which should be nurtured further.

"This victory is not only a proud moment for Nadira but also a great motivation for her to continue developing her swimming skills. Her parents are thrilled and grateful that the school provided her with the opportunity to participate in this competition," Tantri concluded.

Nadira’s accomplishment demonstrates that with determination, proper support, and perseverance, children can continue to grow and achieve their dreams.
