JIMBARAN - Widiatmika Kindergarten has been selected as an “activating school” by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, Technology, and Higher Education. From the many schools in Bali Province, nineteen kindergartens were selected as activating schools, eight of which were schools in Badung Regency, and Widiatmika Kindergarten was one of them.
Widiatmika Kindergarten Principal, Ni Made Budiadnyani, admitted that she was very excited that this school could achieve such success at a relatively young age.
"I feel very happy. We have given our all to get this result and it paid off," said Budi, her nickname, Thursday (20/1/2022).
The selection of the activating school started in August 2021, where Budi had to go through various steps, from essays exam to teaching simulations. Budi conveyed that being selected as an activating school will boost the quality of education in Widiatmika Kindergarten.
As an activating school, Widiatmika Kindergarten will experience a transformation of the learning ecosystem towards a better and more innovative direction, including the student assessment system. According to Budi, this quality improvement will be initiated by improving the quality of teachers, educators, and education staff.
“In a very rapidly changing world, including the world of education, we can provide many new educational platforms. Experts from the Ministry will train us," said Budi.
“School will be a fun activity for students. The quality of teachers is going to be increased too so that in the future, teachers will be able to give lessons that are more interesting for students, but still under the curriculum," she concluded.
The Activating School program focuses on developing student learning outcomes holistically, by initiating excellent human resources. The Ministry expected this program to accelerate schools throughout Indonesia to move one or two steps further, including accelerating school digitization. The quality of activating school is expected to improve within 3 academic years and the school can also be a catalyst for change for others.
In addition, activating schools will receive intensive assistance for school transformation as well as additional budgets to implement new paradigms in their teaching.
