JIMBARAN - Widiatmika School has now provided a refill station that students and education staff can use. The provision of the refill stations facility also supports the Bali Provincial Government's program in reducing plastic waste.
The Jimbaran Community Empowerment Institute (LPM) praised this movement and assessed that the Widiatmika School had played an essential role in preserving the environment.
"I think this is a good innovation for the school environment because we know that waste is a problem for all of us," said Secretary of LPM Jimbaran, I Made Dharmayasa, Friday (25/2/2022).
Made appealed that schools in Jimbaran could also implement something like this. This kind of movement is considered to contribute significantly to reducing plastic waste not only in the school environment but also at home.
"For schools in Jimbaran, if they can implement something like this too because it is in line with the governor's appeal to be more intense in managing plastic waste," said Made.
So far, the movement to suppress bottled water plastic waste has been carried out at the Widiatmika School, where students come to school with their drinking bottles. Therefore, the provision of refill stations is a proactive step for Widiatmika School in supporting students to protect the school environment from plastic waste.
Made also hopes that students can transmit awareness to reduce plastic waste to their respective environments.
"I think this can be developed or disseminated in each child's environment so that it can bring greater changes to the surrounding environment," said Made.
