JIMBARAN - The first week of the 2025/2026 academic year marked a cheerful beginning for students at Widiatmika Elementary School. Through a week-long orientation program held from July 21, new and returning students were introduced to school life in a warm and engaging atmosphere.
Activities were designed to match the needs of each grade level. First graders, who are just transitioning from early childhood education, took part in fun and nurturing sessions such as classroom tours, getting to know their teachers and peers, and learning daily routines like queuing and tidying up. They also enjoyed singing, storytelling, and light motor activities—all aimed at easing the shift into formal schooling.
Students in grades II to VI followed a different approach. Their sessions focused more on refreshing school norms, strengthening character values, and setting learning goals for the year. Although less intensive, these activities still played a key role in helping students reconnect with their school environment.
This year’s program highlighted meaningful learning, incorporating the eight core values of the Pelajar Pancasila student profile. With the help of interactive media like Smart TVs, students sang the “Hymne Widiatmika” together in class. They also made personalized name tags, discussed classroom agreements, and explored the “7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children.”
“We want students to feel safe, confident, and excited from the very first day. This orientation is not just about routines, but about building a positive learning culture early on,”
said Amelia Fransisca Sandra Devi, S.S., Vice Principal of Public Relations at Widiatmika Elementary School. She noted that first-grade teachers were accompanied by co-teachers during the week to ensure each student felt supported.
One standout result: no first-grade student cried or requested to be accompanied by their parents. Instead, they showed enthusiasm, adapted quickly, and participated confidently in all activities.
Beyond introducing the school’s physical environment, the program also emphasized everyday values such as greeting teachers with a smile, queueing patiently, and addressing each other respectfully using “kakak” and “adik,” reinforcing the school’s spirit of community.
“Welcome to Widiatmika Elementary School. Let’s grow together with curiosity, kindness, and the joy of learning,” Amelia concluded.
