JIMBARAN - Widiatmika Elementary School student, I Gede Gaston Ganeswara made an outstanding achievement in the field of information technology. The class VI D student won first place at the PixelPad Game Jam event for elementary school held by Kode Kiddo.
Each participant created a Python Games work made with PixelPAD, while Gaston made a work entitled History of Independent Indonesia.
In his video presentation, Gaston presented the history of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, starting from the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan, the Rengasdengklok incident, to the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. Gaston also seems fluent in English.
Gaston admitted that PixelPAD's work would be collected on August 14, 2022, and the announcement of the competition would be on August 28, 2022.
"I'm looking for a new achievement besides being the 5th world champion. And I also asked Miss Ode (the creator of the Kiddo Jimbaran Code). And Miss Ode gave me the advice to participate in the PixelPAD competition," said Gaston.
Finally, Gaston managed to make it work.
"After submitting my project on August 14, 2022, then on August 28, I was asked to present it online. I won first place," said Gaston.
Meanwhile, the homeroom teacher for Class VI D, Ni Kadek Sri Sasmita, said that when compiling the code, Gaston was accompanied by a trainer from Kode Kiddo and did the presentation himself.
"He made an online presentation and showed a video he made. He won first place in Indonesia," said Sasmita.
Sasmita said that Gaston was an intelligent student and quickly understood the subject matter. In his opinion, he also has a good mentality and is active in learning in class.
"He has been learning coding since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic and has indeed often participated in competitions, and even won," he said.
Regarding the material presented, according to Sasmita, it is from the learning material in class VI, namely the history of Indonesian Independence.
In addition, Gaston also likes history lessons.
