SD Widiatmika Brings Creativity and Culture to Life at the 3rd Jimbaran Education Festival

JIMBARAN - The 3rd Jimbaran Education Festival (JEF), organized by Widiatmika Foundation, officially commenced on Monday, December 9, 2024. This annual event involves all educational levels under the Widiatmika Foundation, ranging from kindergarten to elementary, junior high, and senior high/vocational schools, with various activities aimed at fostering creativity, character development, and cultural appreciation.

On the first day, Widiatmika Elementary School held several engaging activities, including competitions for kindergarten students such as puzzle assembly, coloring, solo singing, and performing the Pendet Dance. These competitions served not only as platforms for competition but also as vital tools to nurture imagination, sportsmanship, time management skills, and a love for art and local culture.

“This activity has a very positive impact on children’s development as it teaches them to preserve culture. It can also serve as an example for schools in South Kuta while showcasing the excellence of Widiatmika Elementary School,” explained Ni Wayan Sucitrawati, Vice Principal for Public Relations at Widiatmika Elementary School.

Sucitrawati further elaborated that the kindergarten-level competitions were attended by 65 participants from various kindergartens across South Kuta District. Each activity was met with great enthusiasm. For instance, in the puzzle assembly competition, participants worked with remarkable focus and energy. Due to the tight competition, the judges even required additional time to determine the winners. The puzzle assembly competition was designed to enhance creativity, imagination, and children’s skills in problem-solving and time management.

Similar excitement was seen in the coloring competition, where participants were tasked with coloring an image of a child holding a victory trophy. Parents were visibly delighted as their children not only made new friends but also learned values of sportsmanship and creativity.

Additionally, Widiatmika Elementary School hosted a Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) exhibition with the theme Sustainable Living. Students showcased various innovative creations, such as recycling plastic waste into aesthetic items, planting chili seeds, creating a living pharmacy at school, producing eco-enzyme, making ecobrick sofas, and utilizing tepes as a planting medium for vegetables. This project aims to instill environmental awareness and social responsibility from an early age.
