Widiatmika Elementary Students Showcase Artistic Talents at The 3rd Jimbaran Education Festival

JIMBARAN – First and second-grade students of Widiatmika Elementary School filled the Kanthi Widya Hall with creativity and enthusiasm on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, as they performed in an art showcase. This event, part of The 3rd Jimbaran Education Festival (JEF), aimed to boost students’ confidence, foster teamwork, and apply classroom learning to real-life situations.

Ni Wayan Sucitrawati, Vice Principal for Public Relations at Widiatmika Elementary School, explained that the art performances were the result of classroom learning, particularly in music education and the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5). During the event, first-grade students presented a musical movement performance with a theme of environmental awareness, while second-grade students delivered a combined performance of music, dance, and poetry.

“The main goal of this art showcase is to build students’ confidence while implementing the knowledge they’ve gained in class. We aim to convey that education is not just about understanding the material but also about applying it to everyday life,” said Sucitrawati.

Although some students initially felt shy about performing on stage, Widiatmika’s teachers successfully motivated and encouraged them to step up with confidence and enthusiasm. The performances were marked by a wide range of expressions, showcasing the students' courage. Some even forgot their moves momentarily, which added charm and warmth to the event.

“This art showcase is unique because every child has a different character and level of ability. This was evident in their simple movements, and even when some children forgot their moves, it was endearing. For us teachers, their bravery in performing in front of an audience is extraordinary,” added Sucitrawati.

Beyond entertainment, the event provided valuable learning experiences. Students were taught to be confident, collaborate in teams, and align their movements with the rhythm of the music. Parents in attendance showed their full support, creating an atmosphere filled with pride and joy.

This activity aligns with the vision and mission of Widiatmika Elementary School to nurture students into environmentally conscious individuals grounded in the Profil Pelajar Pancasila values: faith in God Almighty, noble character, independence, cooperation, global diversity, critical thinking, and creativity.

The 3rd JEF, organized by the Widiatmika Foundation, serves as a platform for students across all levels to showcase their creativity in various forms. This art performance is a testament to Widiatmika Elementary School’s commitment to not only teaching theory but also encouraging students to implement their learning in real-world contexts.
