JIMBARAN – Widiatmika High School’s basketball teams secured first and third place in the 3x3 basketball competition at Bima Mega Fest 2025. The tournament was hosted by Bintang Mandiri School Jimbaran on Friday, January 31, 2025.
The first-place team consisted of I Kadek Putra Mahendra, Mizel Lie Aldrin Majesta Wijaya, I Gede Bagas Perdana Pradnyandita, and Maxwell Bayu Lawrence. The players, representing grades 10, 11, and 12, delivered a strong performance from the start. They defeated SMA Bintang Mandiri School 9-4, dominated SMAN 2 Kuta with a 9-2 victory, and secured the championship title with a narrow 6-5 win against SMA Taman Rama Jimbaran in the final.
Meanwhile, Widiatmika High School’s second team, which placed third, featured John Luise Eugene, Nathanael Batara Hadisoemarto, I Putu Aditya Darma Putra, and Kenzo Krisna Bastian. After losing their opening match against SMA Taman Rama Jimbaran 8-2, they rebounded with a hard-fought 3-2 win over SMAN 2 Kuta to claim third place.
Widiatmika High School’s Vice Principal for Student Affairs, I Kadek Kusuma Mandala Putra, praised the achievement and highlighted it as a valuable experience for future tournaments.
"This victory is a great motivation for Widiatmika High School’s basketball team to keep improving. Competitions like this are crucial in developing students’ competitive mindset. I hope to see more talented athletes emerge from Widiatmika High School," Mandala said.
He also gave special recognition to the 12th-grade players for their dedication in balancing training, graduation preparation, and university applications. With solid preparation and support from teachers, they managed to overcome challenges and achieve this proud accomplishment.
"This success would not have been possible without the dedication of our teachers, who continuously support and train students despite their busy schedules. Strong teamwork and commitment have enabled Widiatmika High School to compete at a high level," Mandala added.
With this victory, Widiatmika High School further establishes itself as an institution that excels in both academics and sports. This achievement is expected to inspire future students to strive for excellence and bring pride to the school.
