Facing the Digital Era, Widiatmika's Student Work Will Be Used as NFT

JIMBARAN - Widiatmika SMA and SMK students have now been introduced to NFT (non-fungible tokens), digital assets predicted to be commonly used in the future. This is a tangible manifestation of Widiatmika High School education which is sensitive to the latest developments. It is a step to prepare students to face the progress of the times that will become their daily lives in the future.

Through NFT, a work of art, for example, can be traded with cryptocurrencies, but no trace of ownership or copyright will be lost or claimed by others.

"We are moved from small things. The spirit is how the work of the children's thoughts in a planned way can be placed in a place that can guarantee the originality of their work so that the children's copyrights are protected," said the Head of SMA Widiatmika, Made Suadnyana, Monday (9/5/2022).

Made explained that although the state has tried to protect copyright through the Law on Intellectual Property Rights (HAKI), cyberspace platforms cannot provide 100 percent protection for someone's work in practice.

Therefore, NFT is the safest and most appropriate art gallery for every student, rather than offline galleries such as museums or exhibitions, which are not long-term.

Made sai, NFT has been introduced to students and is planned to be implemented in the Project-Based Learning School PBSS) program. Moreover, one of the teachers at SMA Widiatmika, I Putu Nana Partha Wijaya, has already been in this world and has had a sharing session with Ghozali Everyday, one of the netizens who made NFT famous in Indonesia.

Thus, every work created by students in PjBS will be used as a digital asset as an NFT. This also educates students to practice archiving their work correctly and safely.

"We tried this because this is a challenge in the future. People talk about metaverses, but the smallest step that can be taken is not tried. This is a simple step to prove our seriousness," said Made.

In addition, SMA Widiatmika and SMK Widiatmika are also currently holding an NFT exhibition, which will take place from Monday to Wednesday tomorrow and may be extended. In this exhibition, the participantscouldo see the digital works of Widiatmika High School students. The invitees can learn more about NFTby sharingn with Nana Partha. They are also challenged to create their own NFT there.
