JIMBARAN – Widiatmika Senior and Vocational High Schools once again organized a free takjil distribution event on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, as part of their commitment to fostering solidarity, empathy, and religious tolerance. The event was followed by an iftar gathering, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere within the school community.
What made this event special was the participation of both Muslim and non-Muslim students. Many non-Muslim students were actively involved in various aspects of the event, from preparing the takjil to assisting in its distribution. Even the rain could not dampen their enthusiasm as they handed out takjil to local residents and passing motorists near the school. A variety of takjil, including melon-flavored syrup drinks, fruit cocktails, watermelon, kolak, dates, bread, and bubur sumsum, were distributed.
“The takjil distribution aims to strengthen bonds within the community, cultivate empathy, and reinforce solidarity and religious tolerance. This event is not just about sharing food, but also about instilling values of kindness and togetherness among our students,” said Putu Mita Wulandani, Public Relations Vice Principal of Widiatmika Senior High School.
Wely Suriya Handika, Vice Principal of Widiatmika Vocational High School, added that the event was designed to integrate the core values of the Pancasila Student Profile, particularly faith, devotion to God, and noble character. The school actively promotes character development through real-world experiences that align with the Merdeka Curriculum, especially within the Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile (P5) project.
The students were delighted to contribute to the spirit of Ramadan, and their enthusiasm was met with appreciation from the community receiving the takjil. This initiative has been a school tradition since 2022, made possible through strong collaboration between the school and parents. Parents supported the event in various ways, including monetary donations and food contributions such as bread and kolak.
Following the takjil distribution, dozens of students, teachers, and school staff gathered at the Widiatmika Vocational School’s restaurant for a Quran recitation and an Islamic sermon delivered by Ahmad Dawam, the Islamic Studies teacher at Widiatmika Senior and Vocational High Schools.
In a warm and welcoming atmosphere, all participants then broke their fast with a meal consisting of kolak, fruit cocktails, rice boxes, and bread. The iftar menu was also the result of a collaborative effort between the school and parents.
“This event serves as an opportunity to strengthen relationships between students, teachers, staff, and parents, fostering a harmonious and inclusive school environment. Through this iftar gathering, we aim to create a sense of closeness and unity within our school community,” concluded Mita.
