Closing Ceremony of The 3rd Jimbaran Education Festival Ends on a High Note at Widiatmika High School

JIMBARAN – The grand closing ceremony of The 3rd Jimbaran Education Festival (JEF) was held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Widiatmika High School. The event was a vibrant celebration filled with exciting activities such as solo singing competitions, band performances, and captivating dance shows.

“The closing ceremony of JEF 2024 was incredibly lively, especially with clear skies blessing the event after a rainy morning. This celebration brought together competition participants, mentors, teachers from Widiatmika High School, the student council committee, and all students of Widiatmika High School. We hope that JEF will continue to grow as a platform that fosters collaboration between teachers and students,” said Luh Gede Krismayanti, Chairperson of JEF at Widiatmika High School.

The event began with a solo singing competition featuring 12 participants from middle schools across Badung Regency. Held in front of Widiatmika High School, the competition required each participant to perform one national song and one free-choice song, with all musical instruments prepared independently by the contestants.

“This solo singing competition is part of the Festival Lomba Seni Siswa Nasional (FLS2N), a prestigious national arts competition for Indonesian students. It aims to identify potential talents in vocal arts and prepare them for higher-level achievements,” Krismayanti explained.

The judging criteria for the competition included vocal techniques (intonation and pitch control), improvisation (song dynamics), musical expression (compatibility with the music), and gestures and stage presence (stage action and neatness).

The first-place winner was Dave Julian Vivalio Vinyard from SMPN 2 Kuta Selatan, followed by Ni Komang Gek Mas Audi Meisiarani from SMPN 5 Kuta Selatan in second place, and Davina Glowdiva Saputra from SMP Taman Sastra in third place.

The winners received trophies, certificates, scholarships for enrollment at Widiatmika High School, shopping vouchers from Suar Collection, and goodie bags containing books from Gramedia and coffee from Lokalate. The prizes were presented by I Made Suadnyana, Principal of Widiatmika High School.

The festivities continued with a lively performance by Prick Band, a talented group of students from Widiatmika High School. The band delivered a selection of upbeat pop songs, accompanied by dances performed by the students, creating an electrifying atmosphere.

“We hope the audience was not only entertained by the solo singing competition and the band’s performance but also experienced a fresh way to appreciate artistic competitions. This event is more than just entertainment—it provides invaluable experiences for both participants and spectators,” Krismayanti concluded.

The Jimbaran Education Festival is an annual tradition organized by Widiatmika School, aimed at showcasing the talents and creativity of its students while fostering collaboration within the school community.
