JIMBARAN – Widiatmika High School commemorated Teacher’s Day 2024 with a simple yet meaningful event held on Monday, November 25, 2024. The celebration served as an expression of gratitude and appreciation for the educators’ dedication to guiding the next generation.
Putu Mita Wulandani, Vice Principal for Public Relations at Widiatmika High School, stated that the Teacher’s Day celebration was deliberately kept modest. The event began with a communal prayer, followed by a speech from the Minister of Education, delivered by the school principal, I Made Suadnyana.
Students from the student council presented gifts as a gesture of appreciation to their teachers. Other activities included a gift exchange among teachers, a traditional tumpeng cutting ceremony, and the distribution of cakes to symbolize unity and gratitude. Students were also given opportunities to express their gratitude directly or through social media platforms such as the student council’s Instagram account, where they could post messages of thanks to their teachers.
“With this simple event, Widiatmika High School aims to strengthen collaboration among teachers and create a supportive educational environment that nurtures students holistically,” said Mita.
The main hope for this celebration is to foster better cooperation among teachers and enhance the quality of education at the school. Additionally, the event carries an important message for students about the significance of learning together to achieve their goals.
The celebration also included reflection and educational discussions. The school hosted a forum involving students, teachers, and the school administration to discuss developments in education and the role of teachers in shaping students’ character.
“During these reflections, students were encouraged to write or speak about what they have learned from their teachers and how it has shaped their character. Through these activities, Widiatmika High School reinforces the values of education, ethics, and character in line with its vision to nurture individuals who are not only academically competent but also morally upright,” Mita concluded.
