Widiatmika High School Students Celebrate Christmas 2024 with a Spirit of Sharing

JIMBARAN – Students at Widiatmika High School celebrated Christmas 2024 by decorating a Christmas tree and exchanging gifts on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Christmas served as a special moment for sharing—not only material gifts but also kindness, care, and love for others.

“This celebration teaches students to cultivate empathy for others, appreciate the needs of their peers, and understand the importance of giving without expecting anything in return. Additionally, it helps them respect the beliefs and traditions of others while recognizing that differences should be valued, not opposed,” explained Putu Mita, Vice Principal for Public Relations at Widiatmika High School.

According to Mita, this year’s Christmas celebration did not follow a specific theme and did not feature a Christmas play or choir performance. Instead, students celebrated by decorating a Christmas tree and exchanging gifts, emphasizing participation from the entire school community. Despite the simplicity of the event, students remained enthusiastic.

“From their expressions, we could see that the students were genuinely excited and full of energy while decorating the tree and during the gift exchange. The gifts were required to have a budget of between IDR 10,000 and IDR 25,000 and were not allowed to include food or hazardous items. Our students are always eager to celebrate major religious holidays because we consistently emphasize the value of tolerance among all participants,” Mita added.

Mita highlighted that Christmas is a moment to share—not only material things but also kindness, attention, and love. Through this celebration, the Widiatmika High School community is encouraged to strengthen the spirit of camaraderie and solidarity.

“I hope this celebration helps us cultivate gratitude for all we have achieved this year and for the opportunity to continue learning and growing together. May the spirit of Christmas give us strength and hope to face future challenges with optimism and renewed energy,” Mita concluded.
