JIMBARAN — The festive spirit of Christmas filled Widiatmika Vocational School as it celebrated Christmas 2024 with collaboration and togetherness on Thursday, December 19, 2024. The event involved all students in the main activity of a Christmas-themed classroom decoration competition.
This year, Widiatmika Vocational School did not adopt a specific theme, instead allowing students to channel their creativity through classroom decorations. The school’s Vice Principal for Public Relations, Wely Suriya Handika, explained that this activity aimed to provide students with a platform to be creative while fostering teamwork.
“We want the students to learn how to work in teams and create a warm and festive atmosphere in line with the Christmas spirit. Through this classroom decoration competition, students are also encouraged to understand the importance of solidarity and tolerance, especially towards their peers celebrating Christmas,” said Wely.
The competition was assessed transparently through a voting mechanism involving teachers and school staff. This method aimed to appreciate the hard work of each class in creating the most captivating decorations.
Wely emphasized that this activity was not merely a competition but also a medium to cultivate important values such as collaboration, creativity, and interfaith and cultural solidarity.
“By organizing activities based on religious celebrations like this, we aim to foster solidarity among friends, ethnic groups, and religions. This is also part of our effort to strengthen the Pancasila Student Profile, an integral element of our school’s education program,” he added.
As a school that upholds the value of tolerance, Widiatmika Vocational School consistently involves the entire school community in every religious celebration, reflecting a spirit of unity in diversity.
“We inform students through their homeroom teachers to ensure everyone can actively participate. We also strive to maximize student involvement, except for those unable to attend due to illness,” Wely said.
Through this simple yet meaningful activity, Widiatmika Vocational School hopes to continue building students’ character to be not only creative but also collaborative in achieving shared goals. This year’s Christmas celebration served as a significant moment to strengthen bonds of brotherhood within the school community while imparting life values aligned with the spirit of Pancasila.
