JIMBARAN - Widiatmika Vocational School (WVS) is ready to hold the WCS Competition on January 10-24, 2022, the largest vocational skill competition in Bali for junior high school students. This competition is free and is open to all junior high school students in Bali Province. A total prize of Rp 15 million and a scholarship for Widiatmika Vocational School awaits.
The Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, also fully supports the WVS Competition. He said that the WVS Competition has the potential to make a big contribution to the tourism development in Bali, which is now starting to get back on its feet from the pandemic.
"We realize that tourism is one of the main sectors of the current economic revival, especially for the Bali people. The education sector must also be present in this effort. We need a definite step to realize it all, so for junior high school students in Bali, the WVS Competition is very good," said Sandiaga.
"Let's take part in the WVS Competition held by Widiatmika Vocational School to compete for your ability and creativity. I am pretty sure that the WVS Competition of Widiatmika Vocational School will bring the names of Bali and Indonesia to be more victorious. Good luck," he said.
Tri Pramono, Secretary of the WVS Competition Committee, said that there are four contests that the participants can take part in. Three competitions are the implementation of majors at Widiatmika Vocational School: the vegetable and fruit arranging competition, two-dimensional character graphic design, and the guiding contest.
"This guiding contest may be very influential because he participant) will bring the Bali tourism sector to be presented to the public," said Pramono, Monday (12/3/2021).
Another contest is the Mobile Legends Bang Bang e-sport category, which is many teenagers are very infatuated into currently.
"For the 1st place in Mobile Legends, the prize is approximate Rp 3 million," he added.
Pramono hopes many participants from all over Bali will take part in the WVS Competition which will be held online.
"Because this event will help them explore their potential according to their field, then it can also help promote tourism in Bali. Most importantly, they will also get scholarships should they want to continue their studies at the Widiatmika Vocational School," he concluded.
