JIMBARAN – Widiatmika Vocational School continues to strengthen its position as a leading educational institution in preparing students to face the challenges of the modern workforce.
One of its flagship programs is UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience) practice for students in the Visual Communication Design (DKV) program. This initiative addresses the growing demands of the creative and technology industries.
“The implementation of UI/UX practice at Widiatmika Vocational School is based on the ever-evolving needs of the workforce, especially in the digital technology sector. Doni explained that the UI/UX program at Widiatmika Vocational School is comprehensively designed, starting from basic concepts to real-world applications. The curriculum covers fundamental UI/UX principles, user psychology, iterative design processes, user testing to evaluate designs based on user needs, and the use of color and typography to create functional and visually appealing interfaces.
The learning process employs blended learning, project-based learning, and real-world case studies. To enhance the learning experience, Widiatmika Vocational School equips students with industry-standard software proficiency, such as Figma for interface design and prototyping, along with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop as complementary tools for visual design.
Doni highlighted several advantages that graduates of the UI/UX program at Widiatmika Vocational School possess: a professional portfolio from industry-based projects prior to graduation, strategic thinking skills to develop user-centered design solutions, and technological expertise through a curriculum focused on the latest tools and techniques in the industry.
“Technology-driven industries like e-commerce and startups are increasingly prioritizing user experience in their digital products. Therefore, UI/UX skills are highly relevant to our students’ future,” explained Doni, who also serves as Vice Principal for Facilities at Widiatmika Vocational School.
