MANGUPURA – Various positive, educational, and entertaining activities were held during the Introduction to the School Environment (MPLS) for new students at the Widiatmika Vocational School, Jimbaran, Badung, for the 2022/2023 school year.
A total of 19 students are involved in this MPLS which consists of three concentrations of expertise: 10 students from the Hospitality class, five from Visual Communication Design (DKV), and four from the Culinary class.
This time the MPLS of Widiatmika Vocational School took the theme "Realizing Generation Z with Global Competitiveness Based on the Pancasila Student Profile."
The opening of the MPLS was held on Monday, July 11, 2022. It was attended by the Chairman of the Widiatmika Vocational School Committee, I Nyoman Sukirta as a representative of the students' parents.
The head of the Widiatmika Vocational School, I Gede Inten, said the MPLS at Widiatmika Vocational School was held for three days, 11-13 July 2022. A few days earlier, Pre-MPLS had also been held on Friday, July 8, 2022, and post-MPLS activities were held on 14-13, July 15, 2022.
"Pre-MPLS is filled with group division, Introduction of the Widiatmika Hymn, delivery of the schedule, and MPLS rules. Besides that, there are also MPLS rehearsals," said Inten.
The activities on the first day of MPLS, Monday, July 11, 2022, were filled with the Introduction of the student council, a P5 theme song game, ice breaking, introductions to teachers and employees, and ended with an announcement of the tasks of each concentration of expertise.
On the second day, students will receive knowledge from the General Election Commission (KPU), be socialized on academic regulations, and learn the independent curriculum.
Meanwhile, on the last day, Widiatmika Vocational School students will receive knowledge from the Puskesmas on the topic of promiscuity as well as from guidance & counseling teachers with "anti-bullying" material.
After the MPLS, on July 14, 2022, students will receive diagnostic assessment materials, learning styles, interest and talent tests, and material for Pancasila student profiles.
"The hope from the school is that our students can proceed at the Widiatmika Vocational School so that they can have characters according to Pancasila students and according to the vision of Widiatmika Vocational School," said Inten.
The Chairman of the Widiatmika Vocational School Committee, I Nyoman Sukirta, hopes for teachers to educate their students well, following their parents' expectations.
"So what parents hope can be realized with full discipline and grow character," he said.
