JIMBARAN – To commemorate National Teacher’s Day, Widiatmika Vocational School held a series of activities themed “Great Teachers, Strong Indonesia” on Monday, November 25, 2024. The event aimed to honor and appreciate teachers for their dedication in guiding, educating, and shaping a generation of strong character ready to face future challenges.
“The Teacher’s Day celebration is intended to honor and appreciate teachers for their dedication to educating, guiding, and shaping students into individuals with strong character. Additionally, this event aims to help students understand the vital role of teachers in education, which will serve as a foundation for their future,” said Wely Suriya Handika, Vice Principal for Public Relations at Widiatmika Vocational School.
According to Wely, Teacher’s Day is utilized by Widiatmika Vocational School to reinforce educational and character values through various activities, such as reflections on the role of teachers, competitions emphasizing responsibility and teamwork, and gift exchanges between students and teachers. These activities are expected to strengthen the relationship between teachers and students in the learning process to achieve optimal educational outcomes.
“The expected impact of this celebration is the creation of synergy between students and teachers to jointly realize the vision and mission of Widiatmika Vocational School. Therefore, the entire school community, including teachers, staff, and students, actively participated in this celebration,” added Wely, who is also a Japanese language teacher at Widiatmika Vocational School.
Wely emphasized that the school adopted the theme “Great Teachers, Strong Indonesia” to align with the National Teacher’s Day 2024 theme. This theme highlights three main messages. First, it reminds teachers of the crucial role they play in shaping a competitive and character-driven generation.
Second, it helps students understand that the guidance of teachers is the foundation for achieving their best potential, contributing to the realization of the Golden Generation 2045. Third, it emphasizes to parents the importance of working collaboratively with teachers in educating their children.
The Teacher’s Day celebration at Widiatmika Vocational School, Wely continued, was a lively event involving the entire school community. The activities began with an official opening by the school principal, Ni Luh Putu Emayanti, followed by a variety of engaging programs organized by the student council.
“The series of events included cake cutting, group singing, shared meals with packed lunches brought by each student, gift exchanges involving the entire school community, and the selection of categories such as exemplary teacher, inspiring teacher, and outstanding teacher. Students personally awarded these titles to teachers they deemed deserving,” concluded Wely.
