Widiatmika Junior High School Exhibits Implementation of Independent Curriculum and Students' Innovative Projects at Badung Education Fair 2022

JIMBARAN - As the driving school for Badung Regency, Widiatmika Junior High School participated in the 2022 Badung Education Fair. This activity was held at the Giri Nata Mandala Cultural Center Building, Puspem Badung.

The Badung Education Fair 2022 will be held for three days, Thursday – Saturday, August 25 – 27, 2022. In this exhibition, SMP Widiatmika showcases the implementation of an independent curriculum and students' innovative work.

The head of the Widiatmika Junior High School, Agus Suastika Adiputra, said that implementing this independent curriculum has four main focuses.

In the first component, SMP Widiatmika exhibited school cultural activities in implementing the independent curriculum.

Second, the exhibition focuses on the learning process at SMP Widiatmika and the learning outcomes in the form of products.

Third, the exhibition is in the form of implementing the Pancasila student profile project and its results.

While the fourth focus is on extracurricular activities at SMP Widiatmika, including school achievements in implementing the independent curriculum.

This exhibition also displayed various good practices of teachers at SMP Widiatmika. Including the results of Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted annually.

One of the highlights of this exhibition is the result of an innovative student project in the form of ikat batik cloth. However, this is not an ordinary ikat batik cloth because, in the coloring, it uses teak leaves and butterfly pea flowers.

Students also presented this batik ikat fabric project with natural dyes from the planning, and implementation, to the results.

"This ikat batik cloth is the main attraction in this exhibition," said Agus.

Agus added that the visitors were enthusiastic and interested in implementing the independent curriculum at SMP Widiatmika. Even the teachers who visited the exhibition also shared about the implementation of the independent curriculum.

He also hopes that this exhibition will be held regularly by the Badung Regency Education Office because schools can share good practices in each school.

"We also show the results of children's learning, children's work. So this can be an example for collaboration in each participating school," he said.

With this ongoing exhibition, Agus is optimistic that the 2045 golden generation can be realized.
