JIMBARAN – Widiatmika Middle School has once again demonstrated its commitment to fostering educational collaboration among schools, students, and parents through its annual event, Kelas Inspirasi (Inspiration Class). This year, the event featured Ni Kadek Rahayu Puspa Dewi, a Wellness Coach and fitness instructor, as well as the owner of a fitness center, as the keynote speaker.
The Kelas Inspirasi event took place on Thursday, December 18, 2024, at the Kanthi Widya Hall. The event was attended by all students of Widiatmika Middle School, from Grades VII to IX. First held in 2021, Kelas Inspirasi aims to provide insights into the professional world from the perspective of students' parents while serving as a source of inspiration and motivation for students to determine their future careers.
“Students of Widiatmika Middle School responded positively to this activity. Through Kelas Inspirasi, they gained an understanding of the diverse range of professions their parents are involved in. Additionally, they learned that their future jobs or careers could stem from hobbies or interests if pursued seriously,” said the school’s Public Relations Coordinator, I Putu Agus Ariangga Iswara.
The success story of Ni Kadek Rahayu Puspa Dewi was a highlight of Kelas Inspirasi. Starting from her hobby of culinary exploration, Puspa realized that her unbalanced diet posed potential health risks. This motivated her to start exercising regularly, which later evolved into a lifestyle. Beyond personal transformation, Puspa was inspired to help others, especially those struggling with obesity, to adopt healthier lifestyles. This led her to establish a fitness center and become a Wellness Coach and fitness instructor.
Puspa’s career journey taught Widiatmika Middle School students that hobbies can serve as the foundation for success when pursued with dedication. Such inspiration provides students with a tangible understanding of the importance of nurturing their hobbies and interests to achieve their life goals.
Ariangga emphasized that Kelas Inspirasi was designed to broaden students’ perspectives on life beyond the classroom. According to him, education is not only derived from books read in class but also from the experiences and knowledge shared by individuals outside the classroom.
Kelas Inspirasi, Ariangga continued, represents a collaboration between Widiatmika Middle School and parents to achieve quality education. This activity directly involves parents in the students’ learning process, strengthening the relationship between parents, students, and the school. Such collaboration allows parents to serve as working partners who can inspire the students.
“Activities that involve parents as working partners in educating children are essential. Through this program, parents feel a sense of responsibility for their children’s education by sharing experiences and motivation, not only with their own children but also with other students at the school,” Ariangga explained.
Ariangga ensured that Kelas Inspirasi would continue in the coming years. The event is scheduled every semester break, involving parents from various professions to share positive insights with the students of Widiatmika Middle School.
