BENOA, November 19, 2024 – Widiatmika High School continues to uphold and inspire educational transformation through a series of Best Practices led by its teachers and principal.
These Best Practices are documented in two reflective articles titled "What Is My Role in Enhancing Students' Problem-Solving Skills Through a Multidisciplinary Approach?" and "Is It Really Difficult to Be a Reflective Teacher Who Enjoys Sharing?"
The first article was authored by Widiatmika High School Geography Teacher, Juliandi, as the primary writer, alongside Principal I Made Suadnyana. Conversely, the second article was written with Suadnyana as the lead author and Juliandi as the co-author.
Best Practices are initiatives documented by teachers, supervisors, or principals based on their experiences in addressing various workplace challenges, including successfully completing professional tasks. According to the Merdeka Mengajar platform, Best Practices can be categorized into two types: Reflective Articles and Policy Articles.
Reflective Articles focus on practical solutions implemented by teachers, principals, or supervisors to overcome workplace challenges. Meanwhile, Policy Articles outline a collection of strategic actions or policies aimed at achieving a single improvement goal.
Suadnyana explained that both articles have been shared with fellow educators through the "Best Practice Ideas" feature on the Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM) on Monday, November 18, 2024. These articles were developed following a Best Practices Writing Workshop for Sekolah Penggerak (Driving School Program) cohorts 2 and 3, organized by the Teacher Development Center (BGP) of Bali Province at Plagoo Holiday Hotel from November 17–19, 2024.
“Both articles were submitted yesterday and have received feedback and revisions from facilitators. They are now in the review process. Once finalized, these works will be published as books by BGP Bali Province,” Suadnyana stated.
He further emphasized that Widiatmika High School remains committed to maintaining the quality of education through Best Practices, whether carried out by teachers to enhance classroom learning or by the principal to strengthen teacher competencies.
In the article titled "What Is My Role in Enhancing Students' Problem-Solving Skills Through a Multidisciplinary Approach?" Juliandi elaborates on efforts to improve students' problem-solving abilities using a multidisciplinary approach.
This approach has proven effective in enhancing students' problem-solving skills. In the short term, the success is evident from students' enthusiasm, while in the long term, the method helps students become better prepared to face real-life challenges.
Meanwhile, in the article "Is It Really Difficult to Be a Reflective Teacher Who Enjoys Sharing?" Suadnyana highlights the importance of fostering a culture of reflection and sharing among Widiatmika High School teachers to improve the quality of teaching and learning outcomes. The program demonstrates that building a culture of reflection and sharing can lead to more effective learning experiences and continuous professional development for teachers.
“All these efforts are directed towards delivering high-quality education that inspires students at Widiatmika High School,” Suadnyana concluded.
